Dr. Nathan Weiss, DC

Hi, I'm Dr. Nathan Weiss, your chiropractor in Thief River Falls, MN. I use chiropractic care and decompression to improve the health and wellness in all areas of my patient's lives, whether they are having problems with back pain or neck pain, or just want to start feeling better when they wake up in the morning. I take a “whole person” approach with chiropractic care, which means looking for the underlying causes of why you are feeling the way you feel, as opposed to just treating the symptoms.

About Dr. Nathan

Background & approach

Who Dr. Nathan Is

Nathan Arlan Weiss is a chiropractor, entrepreneur, father, community-minded business owner, and someone who has built his life around family, hard work, personal responsibility, and a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people around him.

Dr. Nathan is the kind of person who believes that success is about much more than simply building a business or accumulating accomplishments. To him, success is measured by the people whose lives have been positively affected along the way, the opportunities created for others, the example set for his children, and the ability to contribute something valuable to his community.

Building True North Chiropractic Center

Professionally, Dr. Nathan is the owner and chiropractor at True North Chiropractic Center LLC in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. He has worked to build True North into more than simply a chiropractic office. His vision has been to create a place where patients feel welcomed, cared for, respected, and treated like family. The philosophy behind the practice is centered on helping people understand their health, reach their goals, and take a more active role in their overall well-being.

Dr. Nathan takes pride in creating an environment where relationships matter. He believes that when people walk through the doors of his office, they should know that they are more than a name on a schedule or a number in a computer system. Patients are people with families, responsibilities, goals, challenges, and dreams. Building a practice around that philosophy has allowed Dr. Nathan to combine his professional knowledge with something he considers equally important: genuine care for people.

An Entrepreneurial Mindset

Over the years, Dr. Nathan has developed a strong entrepreneurial mindset. Running a successful business has taught him that leadership requires far more than having good ideas. It requires discipline, accountability, adaptability, financial awareness, communication, decision-making, and the willingness to take responsibility when things do not go according to plan. He understands that businesses succeed because of the people within them and that a strong organization requires a culture where employees feel valued, supported, and challenged to become better.

Dr. Nathan enjoys building systems and looking for ways to improve the organizations he is involved with. Whether the issue involves staffing, finances, operations, marketing, patient experience, or long-term strategy, he naturally tends to look at the bigger picture. He enjoys understanding how individual decisions affect the future and is always looking for ways to make something more efficient, more successful, or more sustainable.

One of the things Dr. Nathan values most is creating opportunities for the people around him. He believes a business should not only provide a service to its customers but should also provide meaningful opportunities for the people who work there. He has spent considerable time thinking about hiring, employee development, compensation, incentives, organizational structure, and ways to create an environment where people can succeed.

Dr. Nathan's entrepreneurial experience extends beyond simply being a chiropractor. He has been involved in building and managing successful businesses and has developed an appreciation for the many different components required to make an organization work. Those experiences have given him a practical understanding of leadership that comes from actually making decisions, accepting risk, managing people, dealing with financial realities, and being responsible for the outcome.

Family First

At the center of Dr. Nathan's life, however, is his family.

Dr. Nathan is a father who cares deeply about providing a strong example for his children. He wants his sons to grow up understanding the value of hard work, integrity, perseverance, responsibility, and treating other people with respect. He believes children learn as much from what their parents do as from what they are told, and he strives to demonstrate through his own actions the type of character he hopes to instill in them.

Being a father has also influenced the way Dr. Nathan thinks about his community. He does not simply see Thief River Falls as a place where he owns a business. He sees it as a community where his family lives, his children grow up, and people he knows and cares about build their lives.

Community Involvement

That connection has motivated Dr. Nathan to become increasingly interested in community involvement and service. He believes that successful business owners have an opportunity—and, in many ways, a responsibility—to give back to the communities that helped them become successful.

Dr. Nathan is particularly interested in organizations that have a direct impact on children and families. He understands that investing in children is an investment in the future of the entire community. His interest in serving on boards and becoming more involved in community organizations comes from a desire to bring his experience in business, leadership, financial management, strategic planning, and organizational development to causes that matter.

Dr. Nathan believes that effective board service requires more than simply attending meetings. A good board member should be willing to ask difficult questions, examine the long-term consequences of decisions, understand the financial realities of an organization, and work collaboratively with other people to find solutions. At the same time, he believes board members should never lose sight of the people the organization ultimately exists to serve.

Life Outside the Office

Outside of work, Dr. Nathan enjoys spending time outdoors and with his family. He has a strong appreciation for hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, and golfing. These activities provide an opportunity to step away from the demands of business and enjoy the outdoors, competition, adventure, and time with people who matter most.

Hunting and fishing, in particular, represent some of the things Dr. Nathan appreciates about life away from the office. They require patience, preparation, persistence, and an understanding that not everything can be controlled. Four-wheeling provides a different kind of enjoyment—adventure, exploration, and the opportunity to get out and experience the outdoors. Golf brings another side of his personality into play, combining competition, patience, strategy, and the constant challenge of trying to improve.

Dr. Nathan also has a strong interest in personal growth and learning. He enjoys understanding how things work and is not afraid to explore subjects outside of his immediate profession. His interests have included business strategy, investments, technology, finance, organizational management, health and wellness, and questions surrounding faith and the meaning of life.

Personal Philosophy & Leadership

Dr. Nathan's approach to life is strongly rooted in personal responsibility. He believes that people should take ownership of their decisions and that meaningful accomplishments generally require effort, sacrifice, and persistence. He also recognizes that success is rarely achieved alone. Behind every successful person are family members, employees, mentors, friends, customers, and members of the community who have contributed in some way.

For Dr. Nathan, leadership is therefore not about having a title. It is about taking responsibility. Whether he is treating a patient, running his business, making a financial decision, working with an employee, spending time with his children, or serving his community, he tries to approach the situation with the same basic principles: work hard, be honest, take responsibility, continue learning, and leave things better than he found them.

He understands that building something worthwhile takes time. A successful chiropractic practice is not built overnight. A strong business culture does not happen by accident. A healthy community does not develop without people willing to invest their time and energy. And raising children who become responsible, compassionate, capable adults requires years of example, guidance, patience, and love.

Dr. Nathan is proud of what he has accomplished, but he also views his accomplishments as part of a larger journey rather than a final destination. There are still businesses to build, people to help, opportunities to pursue, lessons to learn, and experiences to share with his family.

Looking Ahead

Looking toward the future, Dr. Nathan hopes to continue growing professionally while becoming increasingly involved in his community. He wants to use the knowledge and experience he has gained through entrepreneurship and chiropractic to help other organizations become stronger and more successful.

He also wants to continue creating memories with his family and giving his children experiences that will stay with them long after they grow up.

Ultimately, Dr. Nathan's story is not simply about being a chiropractor or owning a successful business. It is about building a life around the things he believes are important: family, faith, health, hard work, entrepreneurship, service, personal responsibility, and community.

His goal is to be able to look back and know that he made a difference.
